Meet The Owner: Hello! My name is Todd Holland and I am the Owner of Holland's Book Nook. Let me tell you a little bit about myself: -I am a father to 3 amazing children -I am married to the love of my life -I am a book lover at heart Why did I decide to open a bookstore: One of my fondest memories growning up was when my parents would take us into town to the Mall. At the mall, there was a bookstore called WaldenBooks and it was my absolute favorite store to stop at when there! I would spend the whole time, or all that I could, wondering the shelves finding myself often in the humor, mystery and magazine sections. I would browse the books and when I would have enough money saved up I would purchase something, most often as a child it would be the newest Goosebumps book! I couldn't wait to get home and read the book and would usually devour it in one setting! Growning up I still loved visiting bookshops but they became fewer and fewer with the invention of the Internet and the powerhouse big box chains. When that WaldenBooks went out of business I was crushed. There wasn't anywhere locally to buy books and I was forced to either give my money to the retail chains or go to *Shudder* Amazon. I always wanted to own a bookstore and I did sell online myself for many many years, trying to give people the option for small business ownership from the internet but it was tough as you get buried by the big guys. Well I had moderate success and I started venturing out into the Flea Market World. I found many buyers but they wanted it as dirt cheap as possible because it wasn't a bookstore, it was a flea market booth. That was the impetus to open a shop and here we are in 2024 with Holland's Book Nook. We are nestled in a small small village called Hanover in Ohio. There is a restaurant, a gas station, 2 Pizza Shops, a small strip mall, a doctors office, a coffee and donut shop, a spa and a large school district. It is very small town vibe where it is true that everyone knows everyone. I found it to be the best spot to open a shop, as cozy independent bookstores are what is missing in this age and I have watched my customers look through our shelves and get taken back to when they were children at some of the books we have as well as discover new and exciting titles to read!
